About the fabric
Barnaby is a rustic, slubbed plain weave in polyester with a touch of linen. Up close, short dashes of darker, thicker yarn are scattered through a fine, pale crosshatch like pencil marks on paper. From across the room they fade into a soft, airy texture, and the cloth glows when the sun is behind it.
Soft light, private days. Barnaby softens and diffuses daylight and gives privacy by day, but it will not darken a room for sleeping. At a lightweight 190 gsm it keeps a room bright and hangs in loose, easy folds, which suits living rooms, dining rooms, kitchens and sunrooms.
Made for your window. Every panel is cut to the width and length you enter. Barnaby is woven extra wide and run sideways (railroaded), so panels up to 240 inches wide are made without a seam. Lengths go to 100 inches.
Choosing a header. Triple pinch pleats add fullness to a light cloth like Barnaby, for a softer, more generous look in traditional rooms. Tailored pleats keep the top neat and simple.

Width of each panel
Measure your rod tip to tip, ignoring the decorative finials, and divide by the number of panels. Fullness is sewn in for you, so don't add any.
Length: where to measure from
- Rod with rings: from the eye of a ring straight down to the floor.
- Track: from the top of the track down to the floor, then subtract 1″.
- No rod yet: mark where the top of the curtain will sit, 4–8″ above the window trim, and measure from that mark to the floor.
How the hem meets the floor
Choose a finish, then adjust the length you measured.
Example: the ring eye is 96″ from the floor and you want a break, so enter 97″.
The pleat is the sewn top of the curtain. It sets the look of the folds and decides whether you hang it from rings or a track. These are the styles made in this fabric.
Fullness is sewn in. Enter the finished width you want each panel to cover; we add the extra fabric each style needs.

Pleated panels arrive with adjustable hooks already on. Raise or lower a panel at its hooks to level the hem where the floor isn't flat.
