Fabric details

FabricAN-05

Genevieve is a double-sided chenille with a soft, close pile and a fine lengthwise grain. The surface is matte up close, with a gentle, velvety glow where light catches each fold, so the color reads rich without looking shiny. It hangs in deep, rounded folds from top to hem.

Our velvets and chenilles block the light themselves, with no liner. Many blackout curtains add a stiff liner; ours stay soft and fall like the cloth.

Perfect Dusty Blue for the nursery

Dusty Blue was the right choice for our nursery. The chenille feels soft and the color looks gentle rather than babyish, while the blackout fabric makes daytime naps much easier. The rounded folds are especially pretty when the curtains are partly open.

Rich color and substantial weight

The Mauve color looked richer in our room than it did on my screen, so I was glad I sampled it first. It is soft, heavy, and truly darkens the space. I only wish I had upgraded our rod before hanging such substantial panels.

Cozy blackout without the shine

I ordered Genevieve in Greige for a wide bedroom window. The fabric is dense and matte, with just enough velvety glow on the folds to keep it from looking flat. It feels cozy without reading as formal velvet.

FAQs

The answers people ask us most. Still unsure? Talk to a person.

How do I measure?

Measure your rod tip to tip, ignoring the finials, and divide by the number of panels. Fullness is sewn in, so don't add any. For length, measure from the eye of a ring straight down to the floor. On a track, measure from the top of the track to the floor and subtract 1″. Read the measuring guide

Which pleat should I choose?

The pleat is the sewn top of the curtain. Double pinch is the classic and is included in the base price. Triple pinch is fuller and more formal, tailored pleats are clean and modern, and box pleats sit flat and crisp.

Can I see the colors first?

Yes. Order up to 5 free swatches of the real fabric and see the colors in your own light. They're yours to keep.

What do the light levels mean?

Every curtain sits on a four-step scale from sheer to blackout. Genevieve is blackout: it blocks the daylight.

What if my floor isn't level?

Panels arrive with adjustable hooks already on. Raise or lower a panel at its hooks to level the hem.

Do I need tiebacks?

They're optional: one per panel, in the same fabric, $19 each. Genevieve is made unlined.

When will it arrive, and can I cancel?

It's made to order and delivered in 2–3 weeks. Cancel free within 12 hours; after that, a 25% fee covers the fabric and labor already committed. Because it's sewn to your size there are no returns, but any defect is replaced.
