Fabric details
FabricAN-10Genevieve is a double-sided chenille with a soft, close pile and a fine lengthwise grain. The surface is matte up close, with a gentle, velvety glow where light catches each fold, so the color reads rich without looking shiny. It hangs in deep, rounded folds from top to hem.

How Genevieve compares
One 50″ × 96″ pleated panelOur velvets and chenilles block the light themselves, with no liner. Many blackout curtains add a stiff liner; ours stay soft and fall like the cloth.
Ready-made: a leading retailer's velvet panel with a blackout liner, 48″ × 96″, its nearest size. Custom workroom: a designer custom maker's velvet pinch-pleat panel with a blackout liner, 50″ × 96″. List prices from their product pages, November 2026.
Reviews
How do I measure?
Measure your rod tip to tip, ignoring the finials, and divide by the number of panels. Fullness is sewn in, so don't add any. For length, measure from the eye of a ring straight down to the floor. On a track, measure from the top of the track to the floor and subtract 1″. Read the measuring guide
Which pleat should I choose?
The pleat is the sewn top of the curtain. Double pinch is the classic and is included in the base price. Triple pinch is fuller and more formal, tailored pleats are clean and modern, and box pleats sit flat and crisp.
Can I see the colors first?
Yes. Order up to 5 free swatches of the real fabric and see the colors in your own light. They're yours to keep.
What do the light levels mean?
Every curtain sits on a four-step scale from sheer to blackout. Genevieve is blackout: it blocks the daylight.
What if my floor isn't level?
Panels arrive with adjustable hooks already on. Raise or lower a panel at its hooks to level the hem.
Do I need tiebacks?
They're optional: one per panel, in the same fabric, $19 each. Genevieve is made unlined.
When will it arrive, and can I cancel?
It's made to order and delivered in 2–3 weeks. Cancel free within 12 hours; after that, a 25% fee covers the fabric and labor already committed. Because it's sewn to your size there are no returns, but any defect is replaced.

Width of each panel
Measure your rod tip to tip, ignoring the decorative finials, and divide by the number of panels. Fullness is sewn in for you, so don't add any.
Length: where to measure from
- Rod with rings: from the eye of a ring straight down to the floor.
- Track: from the top of the track down to the floor, then subtract 1″.
- No rod yet: mark where the top of the curtain will sit, 4–8″ above the window trim, and measure from that mark to the floor.
How the hem meets the floor
Choose a finish, then adjust the length you measured.
Example: the ring eye is 96″ from the floor and you want a break, so enter 97″.
The pleat is the sewn top of the curtain. It sets the look of the folds and decides whether you hang it from rings or a track. These are the styles made in this fabric.
Fullness is sewn in. Enter the finished width you want each panel to cover; we add the extra fabric each style needs.
Every curtain shows where its fabric sits on a four-step scale, from sheer to blackout.
Weight isn't the same as light level. Some of our heavier weaves still let daylight through; the weave and finish decide how much light is blocked.
Pleated panels arrive with adjustable hooks already on. Raise or lower a panel at its hooks to level the hem where the floor isn't flat.

Heavyweight cloth is dense and substantial: it hangs in full, deep folds and stays where you set it.
